Lisa and Mark at St Augustines

July 31, 2007

Lisa and Mark outside St Augustines Westgate
Often by the time I have finished shooting a wedding, I feel like I know many of the people there. Maybe it’s my style (I tend to get involved with the shoot) or maybe it’s just because I’m there a long time - to tell the whole story of the day often takes me 10 hours. Either way, this one felt different - I knew a number of people at this wedding before I arrived.

Actually “wedding” isn’t strictly accurate. Lisa and Mark were married in Sri Lanka (something to do with Howletts not wanting to lens an elephant ;) ) but had their blessing at St Augustines in Westgate this weekend. As you can see, they had a gorgeous S Type from K & A Executive Travel. Kevin and Angela are great people and approach their chauffeur business with the highest standards of professionalism. But I don’t think I’ll trust Kevin with a camera again…..

Let’s just say that if I ever need pictures of feet then I’ll know who to call :)The blessing was in the fabulous chapel at St Augustines where I have photographed the fashion show in the past.

and of course there are a number of St Augustine’s traditions. Such as the confetti in the chapel…

For some reason a couple of the guests thought they should get paid for their assistance. i can’t see why. I mean, take this shot…

..all it took was Beckie to hold the flash for me, Becca to hold a big reflector and John to stand in for Mark in an earlier shot to mask the fire extinguisher. Oh and a whole committee to review the pictures and make sure we were heading in the right direction :)Of course, no trip to St Augustines would be complete without some shots in the gazebo. There had been another wedding there the same day so it was beautifully decorated and it always seems a shame not to use it - even when it goes dark.

And no blessing of Lisa’s wedding would be complete without a picture of her mother - Evelyn Tanner, Sales and Marketing Manager for St Augustines.

And it’s just great to work in a place where you can get the outside lights turned on for a night shot ;) Lisa and Mark at the end of their blessing at St Augustines Wstgate by Jonathan Ryan of MyWeddingStory
