Michelle and Mark - what are we going to do with SEVEN bridesmaids?
July 9, 2007
Bigger isn’t always better. Sometimes the simplest weddings are the best - but others, well everybody likes a bit of grandeur. 7/7/7 was always going to be a special date and when I heard that my clients were having 7 bridesmaids somehow it seemed kind of right.

Here they all are in front of the church - Christina, Alison and Manolee. Tiffany, Hayley and Amber and Layla at the front (just don’t ask me which is Hayley and which is Amber!).Of course 7 bridesmaids is easy - for a real challenge, how about 4 priests?

One of them had even flown in from Rome for the wedding. Fortunately they were all very relaxed and great people to work with. After a brief chat (and working out who was the boss) I agreed some areas of the church from which I could photograph the wedding without disturbing the ceremony. Despite glorious sunshine outside, Sacred Heart is in the middle of a row of buildings and so gets very little light. Flash was of course out of the question so I had to use every trick I know about shooting in the dark. After the wedding, I went off with the bridal party to the rather splendid Hartlip Place for a few photographs.

With a bridal party that size this was always going to be challenging. 45 minutes to take 15 groups of 23 people and some portraits of Michelle and Mark. Fortunately, Mark had given me a list of all the groups before hand and we managed to get through them very rapidly. Then it was time to take the bride and groom down to the rose garden for some portraits.

A breathless 45 minutes after arriving it was off to the reception - and of course time for the chocolate fountain…..

Michelle and Mark are off on honeymoon now but there will be plenty more pictures when they return.
