Lindsay and Christopher - a perfect day in the country
August 20, 2007 | 1 Comment
When I arrived at Lindsay’s parents house in Bekesbourne, all was calm and serene. This could only really go one of two ways: either there would be a last minute panic or we were going to have a chilled and fun day.

When Lindsay swept down the stairs looking fabulous and all set for a great day, I knew everything was going to be perfect. Which was just as well, because we had plans for some rather special pictures.
A celebrity Robot Wars wedding

For years I’ve been a fan of the TV program Robot Wars. For some reason the idea of carefully constructed, cutting edge machines fighting each other to destruction has always appealed to me. It was a great privilege then for me to photograph the wedding of not just any Robot Wars competitor but for the man behind the famous “Roadblock” and “Beast of Bodmin”. Roadblock was winner of series 1 and placed 3rd in series 2 and Beast of Bodmin, well it did OK….
Here are the team from Saturday. I’ve highlighted Hender, Chris (the groom) and his father Pete.

You can see them in action on YouTube. Including interviews with Chris (”marine fibreglass - pretty tough”) Kinsey. Though for some reason I couldn’t find the infamous interview with Philippa Forrester referred to in Hender’s speech.
Beast of Bodmin from series 3 (with an interview with a very young looking Hender!) - don’t miss the hydraulically powered cheeky wink…
and the classic series 2 final with Roadblock against Cassius. And yes, all the important action does happen while we are watching replays of Cassius summersaulting…)

Emma and Dan - Porsches, Horses and Fireworks

OK, strictly speaking there was only one Porsche - but when the groom arrived in a GT3 driven by a professional racing driver with his best man literally crammed in the back “seat” it set the tone for a day to remember. The sun beat down on a glorious Kent countryside day and not to be outdone, Emma arrived in her own special transport. One with a little fewer horsepower than the Porsche.

Kirsty and Lee - a village wedding….and a 30 foot limo
August 5, 2007 | 1 Comment
It was going to be a simple day - wedding in the church in the village where Lee grew up and has lived most of his life and a reception in the village hall literally over the road. Unfortunately, the renovation of Chartham Village Hall overran and so the reception moved to Petham.

When I caught up with the bridesmaids in the morning one thing was clear - for Leah the highlight of the day was the gorgeous bag that was hand decorated by Kirsty’s mother. For the rest of them, it was the 30 foot limo.
