Clair and Jim - black and white at the Blazing Donkey
September 24, 2007

“Black and white - like the label on a bottle of Jack Daniels…”. That was the theme and the brief for this wedding - and after 2 years of planning it all came together beautifully. There were amazinf little details everywhere - right down to the tartan ribbon on the flowers.

In the groom’s room, everything was calm and relaxed - apart from last minute panics like where are the shoelaces/cufflinks/aftershave/speeches/rings - oh and how do you tie a cravat…?
Even such a relaxed wedding is allowed its own little touches of glamour and sparkle and of course hats will be worn.

Of course, everything worked out perfectly - the day was sunny, the Blazing Donkey looked fabulous and Clair looked beautiful as she was piped down the aisle to the sound of “Sailing” on the bagpipes to the gazebo where Jim was waiting.

After the wedding, I took some time for a few relaxed pictures of the guests - including Jim and his sons Ashley, Aaron and Ben.

That’s Ashley on the right. At 14 he’s slightly taller than his dad. That came in handy for the next couple of shots where he became my “walking light stand”.
“You want me to sit where??” Clair asked when I suggested she might like to sit at the top of a 5 bar gate for a couple of snaps. She did it though. And if I say so myself the pictures were worth it ![]()

But the wedding album wouldn’t be complete without a picture of Jim and the other love of his life…….

Lots more pictures when Clair and Jim return from honeymoon - in the meantime why not leave your wishes for them in the comments box below?
