Ruth and Martin at the Archbishop’s Palace

Ruth getting ready for her wedding to Martin

All the weddings I go to seem to be so much fun and such relaxed, chilled affairs. Maybe it’s the kind of clients I attract. Anyway, Ruth and Martin’s wedding was a lovelty laid back affair - it certainly helped that most people like the chauffeur, the caterers even the DJ were friends of the family.

Sometimes simple can be really good - a friend’s car, a few ribbons and a gorgeous dress. What else do you need to get to the Palace on time? Apart, of course, from a very proud father.

Downstairs in the Archbishop’s Palace can be a little dark at times and I generally prefer working upstairs but with a small number of really close friends and family, downstairs can be very intimate and beautiful. Besides, the light isn’t too bad…

After the wedding, we went to Loose village where Ruth grew up to take some lovely portraits as reminders of the day.

Then it was back to Ruth’s parents’ house for a very relaxed reception in the back garden - and some great food!

Melon with raspberries and a red berry coolis - delicious!

Oh and not to worry - they had everything the modern bride and groom could require.

On to the reception at Tudor Park and yet another family friend - Paul from Storm Disco.

Since there were a couple of hours between the party at the house and the reception, I was able to edit some of the pictures in between. This meant that the evening guests could view the wedding on a lovely LCD photo frame which ran a slideshow throughout the night. Even better, Ruth and Martin got to keep the frame with their pictures on at the end of the night. If this is something that appeals to you then let me know and we’ll see how we can fit it into YourWeddingStory.

All too soon it was time for the first dance and time for me to leave.

There will be loads more pictures online when they return from honeymoon.
