Lisa & Nick in Whitstable - a day at the seaside

March 30, 2008

Nick Hill in the Hotel Continental at Whitstable

Picture the scene. We have a very suave looking groom sitting in the lounge bar of the Hotel Continental in Whitstable. Apart from a small problem with the buttonholes he remains cool, calm and collected with the best man and his friends. Upstairs Lisa is trying on shoes to go with her gorgeous antique lace wedding dress.

Which shoes shall I wear...?

Everyone is laughing joking and having a great time. There’s just one problem. It’s March, we’re at the seaside and we’re in England. Outside it’s blowing what can only be described as a gale complete with occasional horizontal rain and a suggestion that snow may follow.

But did it dampen our spirits? NO! Though if one more person has said to Lisa “ooo, it was gorgeous yesterday”…. :)

Here’s Lisa all set to walk into Canterbury register office with a beautiful bouquet, a radiant smile, oh and MyWeddingStory assistant Mike Briggs holding one of our brollies. Yes, we were kind of expecting the weather!

After the ceremony it was straight back to Whitstable for fabulous meal at the Royal Native Oyster Stores. And yes…there were oysters!

Only when there's an R in the month - oysters at Lisa and Nick's wedding

And of course, as always happens if you believe enough and pick your moment carefully, the rain stopped, I dragged everyone outside and we were treated to one of Whitstable’s lovely sunsets.

Lennon sensibly stayed inside in the warm though.

Mind you, the wind didn’t drop much. Which made throwing the confetti rather “challenging”….

And then there was time for just one last shot….

Lisa and Nick will be back from honeymoon soon and there will be loads more pictures then. In the meantime, you can use the comments box below for your messages to them.
