The photographers’ photographer

Guest at Marianne and Barry's wedding - complete with Nikon D200

Imagine you’re a doctor - what do you do when you have to treat a doctor? Or if you’re a teacher when you find out that the parents of every child in your class are teachers. You’ll have some idea of how I felt last Friday.

Groom? Professional wedding photographer.

Bride? Professional wedding photographer.

Guests? A heady blend of pro and semi pro photographers - and what appeared to be the groom’s entire camera club.

So I decided I had to up my game a little :)
Let’s start with all those lovely details. The tiny things that make the day.

Flowers and an envelope

One of my clients told me last week that I have a style that’s very like a film - and I realised it’s true. I always love the shots that spark memories and place you right back exactly where you were and exactly how you felt on the wedding day.

I don’t think Marianne needs the entire picture here to remind her that it was Barry she was marrying - just the reminder of how fantastic he looked in his suit with perfectly co-ordinated flowers.

And certainly nobody there could forget Mavis’ hilarious reading from “With Great Pleasure” by Alec Reid. But in case they did then just the words “Hopeful Proposal to a Young Lady of the Village” should do it….

Mind you - you can’t go a whole wedding on just details. We really had to go over to the golf course for the best light and backdrops….

The new Mrs Cant

It’s slightly hard to read on the web version - but the message here is “For Keeps”. And you could just tell they meant it.

For keeps

There will be loads more pictures when the happy couple return from Italy but in the meantime I’ll leave you with one of my signature night portraits.
