“How to make your special day glam, gorgeous and green.”
This rather nice book just dropped through my letterbox. And I’m delighted that MyWeddingStory is one of only three photographers featured for the entire country. Read more

It’s showtime! MyWeddingStory have a couple of wedding fairs coming up later in the month. You can catch up with us at Bridgwood Manor on Sunday 20th April and at “the big one” at Detling on the 27th.
This made it a great time to launch our brand new brochure featuring weddings from last year, stories and a whole lot of fun.

A year ago, we announced that MyWeddingStory would be carbon neutral. Here’s how we got on…
We’re 90% Green!

I did something a little unusual for a wedding photographer the other day - I asked GreenUnion to audit MyWeddingStory for environmental sustainability. They use their own GreenGuage system to assess businesses against ten areas of sustainable management measures. I’m pretty pleased (OK VERY pleased) to report that MyWeddingStory received a very creditable 9 out of 10 for “greenness”.
12 weeks to raise £750,000

This is nothing to do with weddings and it’s only a little bit to do with photography, but it’s right in my back yard and it’s something that just needs doing.
Five miles from Battle in East Sussex there’s a rather beautiful wood. So beautiful it’s an area of outstanding natural beauty. It’s also a Site of Nature Conservation Interest. It contains ancient woodland (and we have very little of that left), gyll woodland (nope, I don’t know either) and open heathland. It is stuffed full of wildlife including wild boar and steeped in history.
You’ve probably guessed by now that I’m not just writing about this to tell you how beautiful it is.
It’s up for sale. It’s going on the market to the highest bidder to be carved up into lots. I really have no idea who will buy it but I’m guessing that only big firms and property developers have that kind of money. That’s if the Woodland Trust don’t buy it first. They have been given a ridiculously short 12 weeks to buy it. The price? £750,000. Since that works out at just over £1,000 an acre it sounds like a bargain to me.
If you can help then please pop over to the Woodland Trust Brede High Woods Appeal. Or just book your wedding with MyWeddingStory. Book your wedding between now and the end of the appeal and we’ll donate 10% of the booking fee to the Brede High Woods Appeal. No ifs, no buts. That will be in addition to any other donations we make to the appeal.
Even if you can’t help then I’d recommend the Woodland Trust site - there are some lovely pictures of the wood on there. See, it was a bit to do with photography…
MyWeddingStory is now Carbon Neutral
January 1, 2007 | 3 Comments

It seems like every day I hear more news about pollution and global warming. The signs seem clear - the planet’s in a mess and we need to do something now to fix it.
So: New Year, new promise. From today MyWeddingStory will no longer be a net polluter of the planet. Of course I’ve been looking into reducing our carbon footprint for a while now - I drive a very fuel efficient car, all correspondence is moving to recycled paper, I only use rechargeable batteries and actively seek local suppliers where possible. However, some pollution is inevitable. I need to get to weddings, I need to heat the studio, run the computers, charge the batteries and at the moment my albums are flown halfway across the world.
From today, I’m going to work out how much pollution MyWeddingStory produces every quarter and buy carbon credits from the Carbon Neutral Company - this company specialises in offsetting pollution. I’ll buy carbon credits equivalent to at least 110% of the pollution that MyWeddingStory produces.
To celebrate this, I’ll also be dedicating trees to all by brides and grooms. Just mention this when you book and I’ll dedicate two trees in your name in MarryMeWood in Devon - I’ll even send you a map so you can go and look for them. Just don’t carve your names in them.
