Ella and Gareth: Perfect Planning
November 14, 2008 | 7 Comments

Cast you mind back a few months. W-a-a-a-y back in May, I met up with Ella and Gareth on Reculver Beach at dawn. Lily was there too!
You may wonder what they have been up to for the past 6 months or so. There’s a simple answer. Planning. Or rather Ella has. The shot above isn’t the plan from their wedding. It’s the plan for the flowers at their wedding. The rest of the plan takes another 16 pages. It worked though - their wedding earlier this week went like clockwork.
Very very fun clockwork :).
Kerry and Stewart at Chilston Park

OK let’s see. Gorgeous bride? Check. Fabulous venue? Check (c’mon this is just part of the bridal suite). Willing assistant to spend ages on her knees with a crochet hook buttoning the bride into her stunning wedding dress? Check.
Must be a wedding then. MyWeddingStory style. Despite it being a blustery November day. And err, raining. A lot.
Louise and Anthony - on the beach at dawn

Why, oh why do I agree to these things?
Anthony and Louise wanted a pre wedding shoot or try before you buy as I like to call them.
They live just a stone’s throw from the beach and so that was the logical place to do it. They had also seen the pictures from Ella and Gareth’s beach shoot and so I knew before I asked exactly when they would want to do it.
Dawn.
About two hours before sensible people get up.
East meets West - Sharminda and Ian
October 6, 2008 | 24 Comments

You are cordially invited to the wedding of Ian and Sharminda at St Bartholomew’s Church in the beautiful Kent village of Waltham. Where the groom and his family have lived, well forever.
A tiny village in the midst of rolling countryside where the groom lives and farms.
You couldn’t get more English than that.
Except this is MyWeddingStory - real weddings, not fairy stories. So there’s always a twist….
Katherine and Ben at Cooling Catle Barn

Another glorious day in Kent. Another gorgeous bride and handsome groom. Another wonderful venue this time Cooling Castle Barn).
Could this job get any more fun?
Actually if I wanted to be picky then I could have done with a little less sun on the day. But it’s still fun watching the guys run up and down knowing that they are fairly warm in their 3 piece suits :).
Charlene and Mike: Archbishops Palace and Chatham
September 15, 2008 | 4 Comments

Time for tea! When I arrived at the George Hotel in Chatham, Charlene was casually drinking a cup of tea and chatting to her bridesmaids about her wedding to Mike at the Archbishops’ Palace in Maidstone. Not quite as laid back as my most relaxed bride ever - but total calm. No fuss and no drama.
Jessica and Barry and a HUGE veil in Chartham
September 8, 2008 | 8 Comments

Sometimes I forget that people actually read this website. Well, Jessica reads it. A lot. It was clear when I turned up at her house on Saturday that she has spent a lot of time and effort planning her wedding. And even though she and Barry booked me months ago she’s been keeping up with the news pretty much every day.
Flis and Dave at Walmer Castle. In the rain.
September 8, 2008 | 4 Comments

People ask me “what do you do if it rains?”. My answer is always the same “the cameras can take more water than a wedding dress - we’ll go on shooting”. Some people laugh. And some people don’t believe me. Then there are people like Flis and Dave who call my bluff. And that’s when we get the coolest pictures.
Of course, it was just my luck to meet a very cool couple who were absolutely up for anything the elements could throw at them on one of the wettest days ever. Those are sandbags which were in front of pretty much all the houses in the road. There were 4 inches of rain forecast and the environment agency had issued a severe weather warning. A perfect day for a wedding!
Jennie and Paul at Gatton Manor - a trip to Surrey
August 24, 2008 | 1 Comment

You know me, I’m primarily a Kent wedding photographer. But I do travel quite a bit for my work. As well as wedding photography in London, Essex, Sussex, Wiltshire and even Birmingham I also occasionally take a trip round the M25. This weekend I was over at Gatton Manor in Surrey for the wedding of Jennie and Paul.
Where they had the most fabulous roses ever. Grand Prix since you ask complete with little sparkly jewels and what could only really be described as fairy dust.
Becky and Matt at Courtstairs - details matter
August 18, 2008 | Leave a Comment

I ran some adverts a while ago with the tag line “Details Matter”. If you come over to the gallery then you’ll see some examples of what I mean. A wedding is full of details from the favours you agonised over to the table plan to the colour of the flowers and on and on.
Becky and Matt’s wedding at Courtstairs was no exception - in fact they had come up with some great ideas of their own. Once the full day goes into the client area you’ll see loads of them. In the meantime here is the story of the day.
